If you have not yet been contacted to move to the new reader, please email us at admin@bushfirepress.email giving us your name, your school name and the email address you use to login to MR-Connect – and we will arrange the move for you.


  1. Install the Music Room Connect app store. Click here to go to the Apple App Store
  2. Launch the Music Room Connect app from your iPad
  3. Log on using your MRC account details
  4. Tap your title to download and read it.

NOTE: When downloading your resource, do not let your iPad go to sleep or you may need to restart the download. Click here for more information on how to adjust your screen lock time.

The Android app is currently unavailable. We working on getting up again as soon as possible. If you do not have an alternative device (PC, Mac, iPad) to use in the meantime, please contact us to discuss.

  2. Launch the Music Room Connect app from your tablet.
  3. Log on using your MRC account details
  4. Tap your title to download and read it.

  2. Open the .exe and install (you may need to allow Music Room Connect to install in your security settings).
  3. Launch the reader from your applications folder.
  4. Enter your MRC account details
  5. Click OK
  6. If the resource is highlighted in red, right-click and select Download
  7. Once the resource is green, you can double-click to open and read.

  2. Open the .dmg and drag the Music Room Connect icon into your applications folder
  3. Launch the reader from your applications folder.
    You may first wish to drag MR-Connect into the Dock for easy access
  4. If you get a security warning, click OK then two-finger-tap or control-tap or right-click on “Music Room Connect”
    and choose open. Then choose open again.
  5. Enter your MRC account details.
    PLEASE NOTE: This is you Music Room Connect login, NOT your bushfirepress.com.au login.
  6. Click or tap OK
  7. If the resource is highlighted in red, two-finger-tap or control-tap or right-click on the resource and select Download
    Please note: The download may take several minutes and may seem “stuck” at times. This is normal.
    Download time will be dependant on the speed of your internet connection.
  8. Once the resource is green, you can click or tap on the resource to open and read.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have just purchased my first Music Room Connect product, and I can’t login to redeem it.

Your login details for the Music Room by Bushfire Press website (www.bushfirepress.com.au) are not (necessarily) the same as for the Music Room Connect Reader.
The first time you purchase a Music Room Connect resource, you will need to create a Music Room Connect account .
You do this by tapping the “sign-up” link under the Login button.
Once you have created an account, you can enter your code to redeem your resource.Go to Music Room Connect Login Page.

We are having problems with some school networks blocking access to the signup process.
If you are tapping the sign up button and nothing happens,
please ask your network managers to whitelist all bushfirepress domains.

I try to download the MR-Connect Reader for Windows but nothing happens.

It is likely the security settings on your Windows device are preventing the download. Please download this document for a work-around.

I have just purchased another Music Room Connect product,
but can’t remember my login details to redeem it.

Remember, your login details for the Music Room by Bushfire Press website (www.bushfirepress.com.au) are not (necessarily) the same as for the Music Room Connect Reader.
The first time you purchased a Music Room Connect resource, you created an MR-Connect account.
If you’ve just forgotten the password, no problem! Simply click ‘Forgot Password’ from the Music Room Connect Reader login page.

I try and login or create an MR-Connect account, tap the button and nothing happens.

We have found that this problem is almost always caused by our sites being blocked at Education Department Level or school level. This problem may also occur off school networks with Education Department or school issued devices.
Please contact your technical person and ask them to make sure that all bushfirepress.com,  bushfirepress.com.au and bushfirepress.cloud domains and subdomains are unblocked for you. Whitelisting ANY domain with bushfirepress would be good. This type of problem has mainly occurred in (but not been limited to) Queensland. We are told that EQ IT has addressed this problem.

When I try to login to Music Room Connect, I get a message telling me that my account has not been activated.

When setting up your MR-Connect, you should have been sent an email asking you to activate your account. This is to make sure that it is actually you at your email address that id creating the account.
If you cannot find this email, please check your junk mail or bulk mail folders.

If you still cannot find your activation email, please email us by tapping here making sure you tell us the email address you used and we will check your account has been created and activate it for you if it has. We will follow up as quickly as possible but it may take a day or so.

When I try to login to Music Room Connect, I get one of these error messages
“remote IP does not match” or “account access credentials have changed”

Your “Cookies” do not match information on our server.
We recommend that you clear the cache and cookies, but only for connect.bushfirepress.com.au

I have a new computer, notebook or tablet. How do I transfer my books to my new device?

All you need to do is download the reader to your new device and login using the same username and password as you used on the old one. You will find links to the readers at the top of this page.

How many times can I download my purchase?

This will vary depending on the title. When you purchase a resource on Music Room connect, you are entitled to at lest 5 downloads per device type. However titles that lend themselves to being used in multiple classrooms through a school will have a higher limit. This limit can be updated for you if you need it (see next entry).

Help, I’ve exceeded my download limit!

We understand that occasionally things can go wrong during the downloading process, like the network dropping out. If you’ve had problems downloading a resource and have exceeded your download limit in doing so, just email us and we’ll get it sorted.

I can’t get the book to display in portrait mode on my Windows tablet

Windows tablets aren’t quite sure if they are tablets or computers.
The MRC Windows App only displays a double-page spread.
