Australian Flag
Scott Morrison, Australia’s Prime Minister, did not give us much notice when he unilaterally changed the words of our national anthem – first verse, second line – from “we are young and free” to “we are one and free”.
This was done to recognise Australia’s 60,000 years of indigenous history and though not explicit, it does represent a small step toward recognition and reconciliation that we can make every time we sing the anthem. Though the anthem may still carry other inconsistencies, at least there is no longer this disparity with Acknowledgement of Country.

We have two versions, one for use at assemblies – this version includes a video with the Australian flag flying and one with the files you might need to prepare a performance of the anthem or teach the anthem to your class.
The older version is still (for now) available on CD + Booklet (pre 2021 “young and free” version).

Includes 2 videos and 2 audio tracks, providing you with the option to use the first or both verses of the anthem.
