WOOD & WATER is Tim O’Brien, Amana, and Mark Leehy.

They perform a mix of original, contemporary and traditional songs in the Irish/Celtic folk music tradition. Their songs, featuring tight harmonies and uncluttered acoustic arrangements, are beautifully crafted and presented.

Tim and Mark, both formerly well-known on the National festival circuit (Mark with Paradiddle Band) have decades-long careers as songwriters and in music production (for stage, film and education).

Tim is also a widely published journalist and author (and formerly a regular on Children’s TV), Mark a well-known music/education publisher and founding partner of Bushfire Press.

Amana, also a songwriter, is a music educator and publisher (and was snatched from a performing career singing ‘80s pop!). Her beautiful vocals perfectly complement the traditional feel and arrangements that characterise WOOD & WATER.

The easy sounds of WOOD & WATER appeal to a very broad community cross-section, young and older; their polished delivery and acoustic presentation fits nicely with community festivals, house concerts and events.
