Your Invitation:

It takes courage to be a teacher, to take on the responsibility of educating children and preparing them for their future.

It also takes courage to navigate the workplace, school politics and interaction with parents.
Teachers face a myriad of demands in their critically important role as leaders of our young people. Holidays are a perfect time to take time out from these demands, share some of your challenges with peers and replenish yourself, ready for the new term.

Music Room and Bushfire Press have teamed with Sue Crock and This Working Life to offer teachers a special 33% discount for this important personal and professional development.

Description

Brené Brown defines a leader as ‘anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes, and who has the courage to develop that potential’.

Teachers take on that role every day.

Dare to Lead ™  is an opportunity to learn and practise the four skill sets of courage identified from Brené Brown’s many years of research. The program explores values, vulnerability, empathy, shame and trust and how these relate to courage.

The three days will also provide a supportive space for you to reflect on your work and to strengthen your skills in looking after your own wellbeing. If you are not familiar with Brené Brown, you may find her very popular TED talk, The Power of Vulnerability a useful introduction and her book, Dare to Lead a comprehensive outline of the ideas we will be exploring in the program.
